Vice President, External Relations and Enrolment
Biography
Shannon is a recognized strategic leader with more than 20 years of experience working in higher education and with organizations across multiple sectors. She’s responsible for the college’s strategic enrolment planning and oversees the Office of the Registrar; Government Relations; Marketing, Communications and Recruitment; as well as Conference and Event Services.
She has helped to renew Georgian’s commitment to cultivate and sustain strategic enrolment practices and principles as part of our ongoing work. The enrolment outcomes that our Strategic Enrolment Management Plan will drive will enable the college, and our students, to thrive and grow.
Before joining Georgian in 2023, Shannon was Associate Vice President, Strategic Planning and Institutional Analysis, at George Brown College. Over the course of her career, she has served as a volunteer on a variety of executive committees, as a non-profit board member and as an adjudicator for sector awards.
Known for her collaborative and consultative approach – no matter the strategic challenge – Shannon is keen to learn, engage diverse groups and ensure multiple perspectives are considered when surfacing solutions.
Shannon earned her Bachelor of Arts from York University, completed a post-graduate certificate in Publishing from Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University), and earned her Master of Business Administration from the Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University. She’s also a Prosci-certified Change Leader.
