Dr. Fariba Molki
MA, PhD, ARIDO Educator
Professor, Honours Bachelor of Interior Design
Biography
Fariba was born in Iran. She studied architecture in Iran and earned a PhD in Architecture (By Design) from the Sheffield School of Architecture (SSoA) at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. As part of Fariba’s interest in learning about other cultures, she worked in different cities throughout Iran and traveled to other countries.
Fariba has over 20 years of professional experience in architectural design for residential, cultural, educational and commercial projects. She has experience in urban planning as well, and taught for 11 years at a university in Iran. Fariba is keen to learn and always looking to improve. She continued her education in the UK and Canada. As part of her PhD research, she analyzed the complex relationship between residents, the places they live in, and the organization of their homes. She suggested key architectural design propositions that support social interaction, inside-outside connectivity, privacy, and re-inventing the past—crucial components of domestic architecture in contemporary Iran.
Fariba recognizes and cultivates a student’s potential in the classroom. She believes that students should feel useful, valued, appreciated and significant. She is generous with her time, knowledge, skills, experiences, resources and possessions. Fariba’s primary interest is digital design.
