Dr. Isabelle Deschamps

BA, PhD
Professor, Honours Bachelor of Counselling Psychology

Biography

Isabelle Deschamps has worked at Georgian College since June 2017 in various roles, including partial-load faculty, faculty researcher, and field placement monitor.

Isabelle holds a doctorate degree from McGill University, where her research focused on understanding brain and behaviour relationships. She also holds a graduate diploma specializing in mental health from TELUQ University, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from McGill University.

Here at Georgian as a faculty member, Isabelle is able to combine her passion for teaching and research, which she shares with her students in the Honours Bachelor of Counselling Psychology degree program.

I have always been fascinated by understanding how the brain works and changes as we age and experience life. As a faculty in the Honours Bachelor of Counselling Psychology program, I am now able to share my passion for research with students. I find it immensely rewarding and fulfilling to guide students through the research process, witness their growth, see their own passion for research ignite, and see them go on to contribute to their respective fields.
