Biography
Christina (Christy) has been a faculty member at Georgian College from 2001-18, with a return to campus in 2023. In her current role, she’s responsible for the third -year Design Studio course, providing insight and experience into corporate interior design that supports program objectives and curriculum learning outcomes. Christy also runs a full-service interior design firm, founded in 2003. Located in Barrie, the studio supports projects throughout Georgian Bay and Simcoe County area.
Christy is formally educated in Interior Design from Academy of Design with 27+ years experience in the interior design field and specialties in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and construction science. She’s best known for creating authentic, functional and environmentally friendly spaces in the residential, commercial, hospitality and medical fields. She prides herself on her attention to detail, eye for quality and love for working with local craftspeople.
Christy has had the privilege of engaging with past interior design graduates at Georgian and believes industry mentorship is key to supporting the next generation of designers be successful in the interior design field.
