Staff from student services are here to help you with all the usual supports and resources. Most services will be available in person, with some continuing to offer remote service as well.

Georgian cares about your mental health and well-being. Our MyGCLife resources can help you increase awareness, link you to important information and services, and keep you up to date with what’s happening to support mental health and well-being at your campus.
Counselling
All Georgian students learning in Canada have access to free, confidential counselling. Our professional counsellors are here to discuss personal and mental health concerns that are impacting your life and/or academics.
Financial Aid/OSAP offers a variety of services to help you meet your financial responsibilities, including OSAP and related programs, bursaries and emergency funding.
Some locations may have an option to pick up your purchase after you’ve placed your online order. Please check with Georgian Stores for more information.
Bear Essentials at the Barrie Campus is open for in-person shopping Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bear Essentials at the Owen Sound Campus is open for in-person shopping Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Indigenous student advisors and Georgian’s Getsid (Indigenous student counsellor) are here to support you, whether academically, personally or spiritually.
The Information Technology (IT) department manages student email, Blackboard, Banner and Orbis. They can help with passwords and IT- and computer-related questions and problems.
Georgian’s International Centre is your home away from home. We are here to help international students with any problems, information or assistance you need throughout your journey at Georgian.
ONEcard is the official Georgian College identification card. It’s your student card, library card, print card, athletic centre pass, bus pass, and a convenient method of payment for select vendors and services both on and off campus.
Peer Mentors are upper-year Georgian students who play a pivotal role in building community, a sense of belonging and connection at Georgian, and empower students to flourish through their first-year experience at college and beyond.
Student success advisors are typically available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Remote service and in-person service are available by booked appointment.

Testing Services
About Testing Services
Testing Services is providing online testing services for admissions tests, Communications Placement Assessment (CPA), and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) challenge exams.
Please note, with the exception of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), external testing is not available at this time.
The Writing Centre help students become stronger and more confident writers. Get feedback on your paper and learn writing tips, techniques and strategies to succeed in your assignments.
Consider these tips to prepare for remote learning:
Online learning can be a new and exciting experience, embrace the opportunity to develop new skills.
Make sure to check in with your course regularly so you don’t miss any important updates from your instructor or Georgian (i.e., announcements, course messages, emails, etc.).
Stay organized and find a system that works best for you. Be mindful of deadlines and ensure you have sufficient time to complete your course work.
Be sure to review your course outline and critical path in your course site(s), as it may be updated throughout the rest of the semester.

A Webex meeting is an online meeting that allows you to virtually meet with other people, without leaving your home or office.
Webex meetings require a computer with Internet access and a separate phone line. By logging into the meeting over the internet, you will be able to see the presenter’s computer screen. By calling into the conference phone number, you will be able to hear the presenter and other participants.
**The first time you use Webex, please allow yourself approximately five minutes to log in and get set up. Your computer will need time to automatically download the free Webex plugin that will allow you to join the meeting.
On the next page, enter“georgiancollege.ca” only and choose Continue.
You will be redirected to Georgian’s Central Authentication System. Enter your username and password (the same login credentials you use to log into Blackboard or MyGCLife).

Anonymously access an online community where people can support one another. It’s open and clinically managed by professionals 24/7. It includes helpful resources, courses and self-assessment tools.

We want you to succeed. Rest assured we’ve got your back, so much so, if you choose to withdraw from your program before Oct. 8, 2021, we’ll apply your tuition fees to the first semester when you return in January 2022, May 2022 or September 2022. You choose the program. All you have to do is reapply and be accepted. For returning students, the same applies. We’ll apply your tuition fees for your next semester when you return in 2022. That’s our Georgian Learning Guarantee.
Eligibility – Registered fall full-time and part-time credit students in Georgian only programs; where program is available; tuition fees only; student is responsible for ancillary fees. Ontario Learn and all partner programs, such as but not limited to, Lakehead-Georgian and collaborative nursing are ineligible. Georgian students on co-op, placements or clinical placements during fall semester are also ineligible.
Students must pay their fees in full before they’re eligible to apply. The Georgian Learning Guarantee can only be accessed once in an academic year (e.g. fall 2021, winter 2022 or summer 2022).
