Research, Innovation, Scholarship and Entrepreneurship (RISE) Day is a place where you can be innovative, creative and share your changemaking ideas with the Georgian College community and beyond.

Join us every year and enjoy the various events including engaging guest speakers, live sessions that will make you think critically, student competitions and research showcases that will demonstrate the innovation happening across the college.

About RISE Day

RISE Day is a celebration of research, innovation, scholarship and entrepreneurship at Georgian and in our community. At RISE, you can meet industry leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and forward thinkers that will help you unlock and create new opportunities.

An annual college-wide event that runs in April and is open to anyone. It includes the Innov8 Awards that recognize excellence in research, innovation and changemaking ideas presented by students or student teams. There will be prizes for the winners!

RISE Day

RISE Day runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a program that allows you to come and go through the day.

The day includes:

  • Keynote speaker and panel on innovation
  • engaging guest speakers
  • live sessions that will make you think critically
  • research showcases that demonstrate innovation happening at Georgian
  • scholarship showcases for faculty and staff to share their work
  • interactive exhibits and student projects
  • the annual Innov8 Awards student and alumni competition
