Cubeit Portable Storage: eBusiness solutions
Project goal: Cubeit Portable Storage collaborated with CARI to modify and add functionality to their current online quoting system.
What was done: Cubeit Portable Storage is an alternative to traditional self-storage and moving concepts that provides convenience, peace of mind, and cost savings. The entire web application was rewritten using a PHP Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework called CodeIgniter, an HTML, CSS, and JavaScript framework called Bootstrap, and custom CSS and JavaScript, in order to meet the needs of clients and the owner. Cubeit’s online price quoting application was modified to: include all 40 warehouse locations, determine a better method of quoting prices, have a more modern look and feel, add language functionality to access information in French, provide an easier way to change pricing, offer discounts to Costco Executive Members, and add a complex taxation functionality (for provinces with different tax breakdowns).
What was achieved: With the updated online quoting system, Cubeit is able to provide more accurate quotes that are tailored to prospective clients, in a timely manner.
