Vanessa from Brazil

Meet Vanessa!

Vanessa is from Sao Paulo, Brazil. She graduated from Georgian’s Business Marketing program in 2018. Now, she works in Georgian’s marketing and communications department as a marketing specialist.

Vanessa chose Georgian as it is greatly recognized within Ontario and because Barrie appeared to be a great place to raise her children.

Vanessa is a very active community member, both within Georgian and Barrie. Some of her volunteer experiences include:

• wellness ambassador
• peer mentor
• various diverse charities
• helping out at her children’s school

She has worked at Georgian as a Lead Peer Mentor and as the Social Media and Vendor Relations Student Co-ordinator for Orientation.

Vanessa is a qualified dietician with many years of professional experience committed to helping people eat well and lead healthy lifestyles. She has a Bachelor’s of Nutritional Science degree from Brazil and came back to college to pursue her passion in marketing. She is looking for a career advancement opportunity with Canadian experience. Nothing gives her greater satisfaction than learning new things and different ways of reaching people. Vanessa thrives on creating networks and having a strong ability to communicate positive advice to people from different backgrounds.

What surprised Vanessa the most about Canadians was how friendly and nice they are and the constant apologies from all sides.
