The benefits:

  • residence suites offer privacy, safety and comfort
  • take part in residence life programs while making new lifelong friendships, just steps away from your classes

Wing Yi Chan, a Social Service Worker student at the Orillia Campus, says living on campus gave her the chance – and time – to meet new people.

I save a lot of time by living in an on-campus residence. It’s a three-minute walk to campus, which is very convenient, and makes it easier to attend GCSA (Georgian College Students’ Association) events.

Interested in off-campus housing? There are lots of options, including apartment buildings, room and board, and houses to rent or share.

Rachel Leroux, a Georgian grad, says living at home with her family was the perfect balance for her.

Living off-campus in my own home allowed me to juggle family life, school work, a part-time job, and other commitments. Learning partly online from the comfort of my own home also provided a better work-life-school balance.

Mohit Kumar, a Computer Programming student at the Barrie Campus says that living off-campus with friends is a great experience.

It allows me to be more independent and experience city life and explore local shops and restaurants on my own time.
