Not your average self-care tips from Georgian staff

It’s International Self-care Day! What do you do to take care of yourself?

Georgian staff love to dance!
Here are 12 tips from college staff:
- Create joyful rituals — small things you can do to feel good every day.
- Start a high vibes file — a physical or online place where you can document nice things people say about you, things you’re proud of or inspirational quotes you can read when feeling down.
- Choose carefully how you spend your spare time. Do your friends and social activities deplete your energy or replenish it?
- Be a goof. Engage in at least 20 minutes of play every day.
- Have a nap. It’s amazing what 10 or 20 minutes of zzzzzs can do.
- Do a regular social media dump. Hide, delete or unfollow negative content and people.
- Spend time each week learning something new.
- Bust a move! Turn up the tunes and dance in the car, in the kitchen, in the grocery store aisle, wherever.
- Do something today your tomorrow self will thank you for, e.g., knock something off your to-do list you’ve been avoiding.
- Listen to your gut more when making decisions, large or small.
- Approach mindless activities more mindfully. Try being fully present when doing everyday tasks like brushing your teeth or pouring a cup of tea.
- Be kinder to yourself. Mistakes and regrets are opportunities to learn.
