What’s open and closed during the holidays 2022

All seven of Georgian’s campuses (including the downtown Barrie location) will close for the 2022 holiday season at the end of the business day on Thursday, Dec. 22 and re-open on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.
Some areas will continue to offer service (remotely or in person) or have adjusted hours during this time. These are outlined below.

Athletic and Fitness Centres
- Barrie Campus:
- The Barrie Athletic & Fitness Centre will be closed as of Friday, Dec. 23 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.
- Orillia Campus:
- The Orillia Fitness Centre will be closed as of Friday, Dec. 23. It will re-open on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), with regular hours resuming on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.
- Owen Sound Campus:
- The Owen Sound Fitness Centre will be closed as of Friday, Dec. 23 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.

Career and Employment Community Services (CECS)
- Service across all three locations (Barrie, Orangeville and Orillia) will be available virtually on the following dates:
- Friday, Dec. 23 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Wednesday, Dec. 28 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Thursday, Dec. 29 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Aside from remote service on the dates listed above, all locations will be closed as of Friday, Dec. 23 and will re-open on Monday, Jan 2, 2023.

Domestic student recruitment
- Georgian’s domestic student recruitment team will be available remotely by phone and email for inquiries from prospective students and applicants on the following dates:
- Tuesday, Dec. 27 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
- Wednesday, Dec. 28 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
- Thursday, Dec. 29 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
- Aside from remote service on the dates listed above, recruitment services will be unavailable until Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.

Food services
- Barrie Campus:
- The Last Class (TLC) will be closed as of Monday, Dec. 19 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.
- The First Class Café (TFC) will be open Monday, Dec. 19, Tuesday, Dec. 20 and Wednesday, Dec. 21 (8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.). TFC will then be closed as of Thursday, Dec. 22 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.
- The Marketplace Cafeteria will be open between Monday, Dec. 19 and Thursday, Dec. 22 ( 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.), closed as of Friday, Dec. 23, and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.
- Subway and Tim Hortons (Student Services Centre; C building) will be closed as of Monday, Dec. 19 and will re-open on Monday, Jan, 9, 2023.
- Orillia Campus:
- The Den will be closed as of Monday, Dec. 19 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.
- Tim Hortons and the Cafeteria will be closed as of Monday, Dec. 19 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.
- Owen Sound Campus:
- The Cafeteria will be open from between Monday, Dec. 19 and Thursday, Dec. 22 (8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), closed as of Dec. 23, and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.

Georgian Stores
- Georgian Stores will be closed for in-person shopping as of Friday, Dec. 23.
- The deadline for online ordering before our holiday shutdown is Tuesday, Dec. 20. Orders placed after the deadline will be processed in the new year.

International Centre
- The Segal International Centre will be closed as of Friday, Dec. 23 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 at 8:30 a.m.

- Supports for international students arriving in Canada during the holiday break:
- For emergencies only, please email international@georgiancollege.ca. This account will be monitored during the holiday closure.
- To book airport pickup and/or temporary accommodations, contact gcarrivalservice@mapleassist.com at least 72 hours before your departure. If you are at the airport and have booked a Georgian arrival package, contact the Maple Assist team at 1.437.223.2223.
- If you have questions about arriving to Canada, please email transitionsupport@georgiancollege.ca. This account will be monitored during the holiday closure.

Office of the Registrar
- The Office of the Registrar will be closed on Friday, Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- It will be closed for the holiday break as of Friday, Dec. 23 and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.
