Georgian College students showcase work, vie for $30,000 in awards at annual scholarship show

Top students from Georgian College’s Design and Visual Arts programs are gearing up to present their work at the department’s annual scholarship show, with more than $30,000 in awards up for grabs.

The work will be hung up and displayed throughout the Helen and Arch Brown Centre for Visual Arts at the Barrie Campus from April 25 to May 14.

Eight different programs will be represented in the show: Art and Design Fundamentals; Digital Content Creation and Strategy; Graphic Design; Honours Bachelor of Interior Design; Interior Decorating; Jewellery Design, Bench Skills and Business; Kitchen and Bath Design; and Visual and Digital Media Arts.

Just prior to the show opening, a panel of industry experts from all the program areas will judge the work and select the award winners. All prizes are donated by Georgian industry partners.

  • Runs April 25 to May 14.
  • Opening reception: April 25, from 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Show hours: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Location: Throughout the Helen and Arch Brown Centre for Visual Arts (D building), Georgian’s Barrie Campus, including: The Campus Gallery (room D140), the hallways and rooms D140A, D116 and D123.
