Tom McBride is new Chair, Georgian College Board of Governors

Tom-McBride-2015WebTom McBride of Barrie is the new Chair of Georgian College’s Board of Governors.

McBride joined the Board in September 2011 and served as Vice Chair for two terms from September 2013 to August 2015. He was subsequently elected as Chair by his colleagues on the board, effective Sept. 1, 2015.

He is currently the President of McBride Robillard Financial Solutions Inc.

McBride has made incredible contributions to Georgian over the last several years as a member of the Board of Governors, bringing exceptional leadership and initiative to this important volunteer role.

As a member of the Board, McBride has been active in meetings and committee work – providing mentorship, wisdom and guidance. He has been particularly involved in the Advancement Committee, helping to strengthen community connections and raise funds to support Georgian and its students.

McBride’s dedication to excellence and passion for serving others extends beyond the college. He is very involved in the community as a business leader and philanthropist.

McBride embodies a lot of the same qualities Georgian hopes to instill in its students – he has an innovative mindset, is committed to the growth and development of the community, and he uses his skills and expertise to contribute however he can.

He is passionate about the future of Georgian College and feels honoured to continue his association with the board.

“Georgian College is a leader in postsecondary education and is committed to being an active agent of growth for students, employers, partners and the communities we serve,” says McBride.

The inaugural meeting of the board took place on Thursday, Sept. 24 in Barrie.
