Orillia Campus celebrated Franco-Ontarian Day

Sept. 25 is officially recognized by the Ontario Legislature as the date to honour all French-speaking Ontarians. Franco-Ontarians also have an official flag and anthem.

Georgian College is home to many students who speak French or come from French heritage. Staff from the Orillia Campus wanted to take a moment to recognize that.

The event was organized by faculty member Steve McDonald. Brief speeches were made by Kim Prentice, campus manager, and Melissa Raymond, principal of Samuel de Champlain school, as a representative of the French-Ontarian community.
