Mocktails with a mission: Georgian College students bring back popular local fundraiser for MADD Simcoe County

Georgian College students are serving up a batch of fun with the highly anticipated return of a popular local fundraising event, Mocktail MADDness, in support of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Simcoe County.

This event led by students in Georgian’s Event Management program will take place at the Barrie Campus on Friday, April 4 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Guests will enjoy a curated menu of mocktails, expertly paired with appetizers provided by Barrie restaurants, including Montana’s BBQ and Bar, State & Main, East Side Mario’s and The Mexican House. The evening will also feature live entertainment, vendor booths, a raffle with more than $1,000 in exciting prizes, and interactive activities, including voting on best mocktail and appetizer.

“Mocktail MADDness is not only an amazing fundraising event, it’s an opportunity for our Event Management students to showcase their creativity and event planning expertise in a real-world setting,” said Marilyn Nigro, Event Management Program Coordinator at Georgian. “Mocktail MADDness is one of our most popular student-run events, and I’m delighted our students are bringing it back after a hiatus.”

All proceeds from the event support MADD Simcoe County, which aims to stop impaired driving, raise awareness and support victims through a variety of services and resources:
