Georgian celebrates Indigenous culture with return to in-person Pow Wow March 11

Georgian College’s in-person Pow Wow returns this March for the first time in four years. Students, employees and the public are invited to the college’s 15th Traditional Pow Wow to celebrate and learn about Indigenous culture, songs and dance. The theme this year is Honouring the Cycle of Life.
The annual Pow Wow, organized by students and employees from the Indigenous Resource Centre, takes place in the Barrie Campus Athletic Centre on Saturday, March 11.
Event details
- Doors open to the public at 10:30 a.m.
- The spectacular Grand Entry will take place at noon and again at 7 p.m.
- The event wraps up around 9 p.m.
- A free dinner feast will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for all attendees
- A hand drum competition will take place during the dinner break as well.
- Admission and parking are free
- Donations of non-perishable food items to the Georgian Food Locker (an on-campus food bank for students) are encouraged
