General (Ret’d) Rick Hillier to present at Georgian College

Former Chief of Defence Staff for the Canadian military, General (Ret’d) Rick Hillier, will speak on “Leadership in Tough Times” on April 9, in the Georgian Theatre, Barrie Campus of Georgian College. This event is part of Georgian’s President’s Thought Leadership Speaker Series which brings engaging speakers to campus for the benefit of students and the community.

In the past few years, Georgian has hosted such other high-profile speakers as Dragons’ Den stars Arlene Dickinson and David Chilton, as well as Canadian astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield.

“The wider community benefits from “The President’s Thought Leadership Speaker Series by taking part in the exceptional learning experiences Georgian offers,” said Lisa Banks, Vice President, External Relations. “We are thrilled to host these speakers who offer their unique and sought-after perspectives gained from their life experiences.”

The general public can purchase tickets to hear General Hillier speak for $10 per person. The event runs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Georgian student and alumni are invited to obtain complimentary tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.
