Edwin Sarfo
Driven, honest and personal, Edwin Addai Sarfo distinguished himself through his leadership and dedication to his studies before setting out into the world equipped for the challenges of the modern business markets.
Playing rugby for Georgian, not only did Edwin lead the Georgian Grizzlies to their first gold medal in 20 years, he helped secure their season with a perfect record. As a result, he won the Ontario College Athletic Association’s (OCAA) men’s rugby scoring champion award, named the Team MVP, was recognized as The Athlete of the Year for Georgian, and was named an OCAA All-Star.
Edwin sought to create a well-rounded educational experience for himself to ensure he was market-ready. Edwin worked numerous jobs while successfully studying at the University of Guelph and at Georgian College: he could see different intersections of preparedness, turbulence, and marketability that would cause some businesses to thrive, and others to struggle. More importantly, he saw opportunity.
Wanting to equip himself with practical hands-on experience and the tools to succeed, Edwin first earned his Business – Marketing diploma (class of 2018) from Georgian, then successfully earned his Business Administration advanced diploma (class of 2019) from Georgian.
During his time at Georgian, Edwin continually distinguished himself, winning the 2017 VOICES competition, a public speaking competition hosted by Seneca College. The competition is open to students in marketing and advertising programs at Seneca, Centennial, Humber and Georgian colleges. Edwin moved the judges with his speech entitled, “White Slaves.”
Edwin’s accomplishments include:
- Athletic Awards Fund, 2018
- The Bryan Armstrong Memorial Award, 2018
- Student Leadership Award in honour of Michele Beaudoin, 2017 and 2018
- Male Athlete of the Year, 2017
- Rugby Most Valuable Player, 2017
Currently working as a Realtor with the Torro Group, Edwin is making his mark in the real estate world by helping families find a place to create a lifetime of memories.
