Transverse Stability

Course description
Students learn why a ship floats and study basic ship stability theory and definitions. Students also practice various calculations regarding the effects of distribution of weights, water density, centres of gravity, hydrostatics, and coefficients of form; students apply Simpson’s rules for determining areas, volumes, and moments of inertia.
