Course description

In this basic drafting and blueprint course, students develop the ability to read, illustrate and sketch simple trade related drawings. The concepts of scale, multi view and pictorial projection are covered. Building plan sets are reviewed to familiarize students with documents that they may encounter in the field. Students consider the environmental impact of plumbing fixtures and piping layout applications when using and creating trade drawings and plans. Emphasis is placed on a 'hands on approach' through a series of assignments in which students gain some basic skills to assist them throughout their career in the trade.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
