Course description

Students examine the roles and responsibilities of the investigator and the essential steps necessary to conduct a professional investigation. Students have the opportunity to practice investigative skills necessary to acquire critical information from victims, witnesses, suspects as well as collect and preserve evidence and compile detailed reports. Students will explore various interviewing techniques as well as issues related to detecting deception and eyewitness identification.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
