Course description

In this course, students examine the progress of art theories, styles, and disciplines from 1850-1945. Consideration is given to the scientific, historical, and political events that created the impetus for change. Beginning with the experiments of the Impressionists, students explore the development of "modern" art through the revolution of form into Cubism and Abstraction.
