Course description

In this course, students develop knowledge of fire inspection methods with respect to applications of the Ontario Fire Code Div. B Part 9. Students learner to address life safety issues in buildings in their communities that are regulated under Div. B, Part 9 Retrofit of the Ontario Fire Code. This course provides a review the material learned in Div. B Part 2 & 6 of the Fire Code regarding occupant loads, means of egress, travel distances, fire separations, and fire alarm and detection systems but they are addressed from a “retrofit” perspective. This course meets the requirements of Fire Code Part 9 Retrofit as required by the OFM for provincial certification in NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector Level 1.
