Field Placement

Course description

In this course, students are provided the opportunity to integrate their professional development as event practitioners. With guidance from faculty, students develop a field placement plan to complete a minimum of 112 hours in the event industry as an employee or volunteer. Each placement must be approved by the program coordinator and/or an assigned faculty member prior to commencement. Engagement in a variety of roles provides a lens to various career opportunities and further develop a broader understanding of the event industry.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
