Course description

Students learn the practical application of professional code of ethics and standards of practices, with the overarching aim of contributing to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action. The course adopts a changemaker perspective, guiding students through an exploration of the different governmental levels and their impact on early childhood education. This includes an examination of the various organizations that provide support and services to the Early Childhood Education sector. Students examine the development of social policy in Canada with a particular focus on advocating for the profession of Early Childhood Education.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
