Environmental Health/Safety

Course description

In this course, students outline the requirements of current legislation and standards pertaining to environmental health and safety in the workplace. Students examine health and safety management systems, hazardous materials management, WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), biological, physical and chemical hazards, environmental monitoring devices, confined space entry, personal protective equipment, and emergency response.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
