Course description

In this course, students are provided an introduction to geological concepts such as the composition and structure of the earth; plate tectonics; geological time scale; geological processes and the landforms they produce. Principles of soil science are investigated including soil formation, taxonomy, biological components, and the chemical and physical properties of soils. Industry experts and field trips further connect in-class student learning to real-world examples of earth science.
