Digital Design Principles

Course description
Students are introduced to the principles and elements of design, and apply them to the design of simple Web page or interface layouts. Rationale are developed to defend and support design decisions. Current design trends in Web design are discussed. Basic vector and bitmap editing software programs are introduced. Students are challenged to translate branding strategies and assets from a print to a web-based environment.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
