Course description

Students in Co-operative Education work terms have the opportunity to apply academic learning in a workplace setting. Students are expected to conduct a self-directed job search to secure a position in their field of study, with the support of college co-op staff. Work term experiences are reviewed and approved through the submission of a Work Term Record in GeorgianConnects and an active Banner registration. It is expected that students will achieve technical learning outcomes and develop soft skills related to the field. Co-operative Education learning outcomes are derived directly from program learning outcomes. Georgian College follows the Cooperative Education guidelines set out by the Co-operative Education and Work Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL) and Education at Work Ontario (EWO). Students are required to attend and participate in scheduled Co-op classes (CPHR0001) prior to their first Co-op work term.
