Course description
Students develop the skills necessary to meet the communication needs of a person with a developmental disability who has receptive and/or expressive communication differences. A variety of communication strategies, techniques and devices designed to augment or replace speech are examined. Students practice basic sign language commonly utilized in the field of developmental services.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
