Course description
In this course, students explore the current set-up, structure, content, and application of the requirements of Ontario Building Code (OBC) using both Volumes 1 and Volume 2 to assist the user with the knowledge of the current OBC requirements. They focus on the most current OBC requirements (2012) dealing with houses specifically in Part 9. Through the use of quizzes and assignments, students prepare for the Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) Qualification Examinations set out by the Building and Development Branch of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (in the House Category focusing on Division B - Part 9 of the Building Code), along with the applicable Supplementary Standards in SB-1, SB-7, and SB-9.
