Course description

In this course, students investigate advanced modelmaking; complex wax carving and lost wax casting techniques; investment burnout; mold making and pulling of waxes; material and labour costs tracking, and the creating, casting and finishing of cast jewellery pieces. Emphasis is placed on the health and safety procedures associated with these techniques.

Post Secondary level JEWL 1004 Modelmaking and Casting Minimum Grade of 50

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
