Learning experiences
Orillia Campus
Georgian’s Orillia Campus is home to our Community Safety and Human Services programs and has close ties to local employers.
Campus buildings total over 136,000 square feet with nearly 45 acres of property, and feature a community impact lab, multi-disciplinary lab, use-of-force room and more.
Interactive counselling labs
Using our on-campus interactive counselling labs, students in our Human Services programs explore the basis of supportive counselling: respect, genuineness, empathy and empowerment.
The labs provide students with an opportunity to practise in a life-like setting and hone their counselling and communication skills.
The Early Childhood Education program at Georgian College provided me with opportunities for hands-on learning in a creative and inclusive environment. The faculty were actively engaged with the students in reaching their goals.
This program opens up so many doors for its students by bringing in community partners. Offering three placements in the field meant I was able to make lasting connections and network myself in the community. I would absolutely recommend the ECE program at Owen Sound or Orillia to anyone interested in working with children.—Jocelyn Hay
